Carolyn Carrier

I am a Registered Social Worker, Certified EMDR Therapist and EMDRIA Approved Consultant

Psychotherapy and counselling are not only my career but they are my passion. As a therapist, I am committed to assisting my clients with all of their concerns with sincerity and compassion. I believe that our body and our mind are naturally designed to heal but at times this process can become stuck. Therapy helps with addressing these stuck points and allows for healing to occur.

My hope is to provide a safe place to share your experiences and to facilitate the changes that will allow you to fulfil your life goals and dreams.

I graduated from the University of Western Ontario with my Master of Counselling Psychology degree having previously completed my Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and my Bachelor of Education in Adult Education.

I continued my education by completing a certificate program through the International Society of Traumatic Stress Studies and became a EMDRIA Certified EMDR Therapist. In addition to psychotherapy services, I also offer consultation services for new EDMR therapists, as an EMDRIA Approved Consultant.

I have worked in the forensic field prior to entering my career, as a Registered Social Worker. The role allowed me opportunities to work within group therapy settings, case management roles, investigative and risk assessment, and I spent some time teaching at the Ontario Correctional Services College.

When entering my career, as a therapist, I had the opportunity to work at the London Health Science Centre within the Traumatic Stress Services working with men and women impacted by early developmental childhood trauma. Working along side individuals overcoming their Post Traumatic Stress has been a great honour and rewarding experience that I continue to enjoy in my private practice.  In my private practice here in London, Ontario I work with individuals ages 16 and older who struggle with mental health and addictions. I have developed specialized skills in addressing childhood trauma, family violence, anger, self-esteem, and mood disorders related to anxiety and depression. I provide in person, telephone sessions and video appointments.

I am a Registered Social Worker and EMDR Therapist

Welcome, I’m so glad you're here. My approach to therapy is rooted in creating a space where you feel safe, respected, and fully supported. I use a trauma-informed perspective, meaning that I understand and respect the profound impact that past experiences can have on your thoughts, emotions, and body. There’s no rush in this space—whatever you need to explore is welcomed at your own pace and comfort level.

Here, the focus is on empowering you to connect with yourself and your needs, without judgment or pressure. It’s a collaborative process where we work together to uncover and process what feels most important to you. The goal is to help you heal, grow, and gain a deeper understanding of your experiences, all within a compassionate and secure environment.

You are the expert on your own life, and my role is to provide the support, tools, and understanding to help you navigate your journey toward healing.

Throughout my career, I have also worked at the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Unit at London Health Sciences Centre. My approach is rooted in a holistic understanding of each person’s unique circumstances, integrating therapeutic modalities such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT).

Currently, I am working with youth and adults providing in-person or virtual therapy to address concerns related to anxiety, depression, mental illness, addictions, trauma and more. I am passionate and committed to my work with people of all ages and personal growth and continued education is important to me. I am currently pursuing my EMDR certification as well as a certification in complex trauma.

I graduated with a master’s degree in Social Worker in 2015 from the University of Western Ontario.
